Bawaslu chairman reported to KPK on the renovation project for the command center building
Jakarta – The Democratic Downstream Movement (Gabdem) has reported the chairman of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Rahmat Bagja, to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The report is related to the command center project and the renovation of the Indonesian Bawaslu building in 2024. The report was carried out on Tuesday (21/10/2025). Gabdem coordinator Guntur Harahap said the report was submitted to the KPK’s public complaint (dumas) party. “We are making public complaint reports on cases of 2 major projects in 2024. The first is the case of the command center project. The second case is said to be the renovation project for buildings A and B of the Indonesian Bawaslu building,” Guntur told journalists at the KPK building, Tuesday (21/10). SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT Guntur said that there were 3 people reported besides Bagja. Namely the power from budget users to procurement officers. “The first was Rahmat Bagja as Chairman of Bawaslu RI at the time of the project. The second was Arif Budiman as Procurement Officer, the third was Hendri as PPK, and the fourth was Ferdinand Eskol Sirait as Budget User Authority),” he said. “We hope that they will be quickly summoned and investigated,” he added. Asep Guntur Rahayu, acting deputy for enforcement and execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission, said he would first check the report. He explained that the stages of public complaints to the Corruption Eradication Commission will definitely be reviewed first. “So the process is like this. First report it to PLPM or Dumas, complain from the public. Later from there it will be looked at first, then settled and other things will be studied. Only then will it escalate to investigation,” Asep said. “Just move deputies, change deputies. That’s how it is. So we’re both waiting. It’s earlier than the investigation,” he added. (ial/mo)
