Private hospitals have been stopped from five and Ayushman operation

The Haryana Health Protection Authority (HHPA) has prevented private hospitals from performing five additional procedures under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and has reserved for government hospitals only. The latest restrictions are applied to cataract surgery, abdominal hystertomy, gastro -centered treatment, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD – acute and chronic) management and laparoscopic cholesterctomy. Sangeeta Tetarwal, CEO of Ayushman Bharat, confirmed the new order, saying: “This assignment was given to all the civilian surgeons of all Haryana for strict implementation.” He said: “These medical procedures are reserved only in government institutions. Private hospitals will not do procedures under Ayushman Bharat.” According to officials, the purpose of this decision is to adjust the use of existing public health services infrastructure and reduce the financial burden on the state’s health budget. The civil surgeon, dr. Poonam Chaudhary of Karnal, extensively explained that this order was informed by the Medical Association of India (IMA) to private hospitals. He said: “Private hospitals can continue to do this operation independently, but they will not be covered or compensated under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.” “This is not the first time such a step has been taken. In the earlier stages, many processes were already reserved for public hospitals.” Dr. Chaudhary emphasized that the purpose of this step is also to encourage more and more citizens to use health facilities. However, this assignment created dissatisfaction with private healthcare providers. Dr. Deepak Prakash, president of Karnal IMA, said: “There is resentment among private doctors about this order. We are in contact with the state body and will make a final decision after a detailed discussion.” Share this story -tags
