BED: Unservational rain destroys crops of farmers, pleading for reigns from government
Beed, May 29 (IANS). On -Sonous Rain in Ashti Taluka of the Beed district Maharashtra broke the back of farmers. The ongoing rain for the past eight days has done great damage to cash crops such as banana, pomegranate and onion. The fields are flooded, causing crops to rot. The farmers demanded immediate compensation from the government. A total of 3930.18 hectares of agricultural sector in the district were damaged, of which standing crops were destroyed on 3894.23 hectares of land in Ashti Taluka alone.
