Ben Platt Sets Two-Week Residency At LA’s Ahmanson Theatre
Ben Platt has set a two-week, 10-performance residency at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theater, a holiday engagement that will run from December 12-21.
As with his recent Broadway residency, Platt’s Los Angeles stint will feature “a star-studded set of special guests” to present some of his Platt’s best known songs and “timeless Broadway favorites.”
Platt’s reps aren’t saying who he’ll share the Ahmanson with, but his 2024 Broadway residency at the Palace Theater welcomed in such performers as Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Hudson, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Smith, Micaela Diamond, and Shoshana Bean. Platt’s reps say that for the LA stand, “Ben’s upping the ante, with even more incredible surprise guests joining the fun each night.”
Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade), Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson marks a homecoming for the singer-actor, as he returns to the stage and city that launched his theatrical career (Dead End; Caroline, or Change).
Platt joins a short group of musicians who have played concert engagements at the Ahmanson. The list includes Diana Ross, Bernadette Peters, and Lea Salonga.
