Kolkata, June 26 (IANS). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the most important accused of murdering the BJP worker Abhijeet Sarkar in the violence following the election in the Western Bengal meeting held in 2021, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday. The arrested person has completed in the case from the beginning, he has never joined the investigation. The arrested person was identified as Arun Dey, for which the CBI previously declared a reward of 50 thousand rupees. He was one of the five most important accused of killing the government, a resident of the Kankurgachi area in the north of Kolkata during the violence that broke out after the West Bengale election in West Bengale. Sources said Dey was finally arrested on Thursday of a secret shelter in the Northern24 Parganas district in the Western Bengal. However, further information is still awaiting the matter. Four other main accused in the case Sukhdev Poddar alias Sukha, Gopal Das alias Vishal, Amit and Vishwajit Das Alias Bomba are still busy. All the five accused were identified as strong leaders of the Trinamole Congress in the area and were close to the ruling party MLA Paresh Paul of the Northern Kolkata’s Investhata meeting and a close confidant of the Trinamool Congress Councilor Swapan Samaddar in Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC). Paul has already been questioned by CBI officials in this regard. However, he was not mentioned in the charge sheet submitted by the CBI in this case, whereby the family members of the killed BJP worker were angry. Abhijeet Sarkar was killed shortly after the results of the election at the meeting were declared on May 2, 2021. The Trinamole Congress won the election. After the order of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI conducted an investigation into the Kolkata police. In September 2021, a Kolkata trial court declared the five accused committed to it. After that, the CBI declared a reward of 50-50 thousand rupees on each of them. Eventually, after more than four years, one of the five accused and absolutely persons was arrested by CBI officials.
