CBI arrested false bank guarantee scam worth 183 crore two, including PNB officer

Bhopal, June 20 (IANS). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), although they have achieved a great success, has exposed a large false bank guarantee scam worth Rs 183 crore to the Indore -based private firm Messrs. The agency confirmed the arrest of the senior executives of Punjab National Bank (PNB), Govind Chandra Hansda and Mohammad Feroz Khan. Both officials were allegedly in the middle of the operation of fraud. The scam came to light after the leadership of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, after which the CBI registered three separate cases on May 9, 2025. Investigation revealed that Tirtha Gopicon Limited offered an eight fake bank guarantee worth Rs 183.21 crore to ensure three irrigation projects worth Rs 974 crore. Incorrectly ratified by e -mail sent from fake PNB -E -POS -ID, which misled MPJNL to contract. After the CBI investigation, attacks on 23 places in five states (Delhi, Western Bengals, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh) were conducted on June 19. The arrests were made in Kolkata, where the accused was produced in a local court and now brought to Indore for further interrogation. Preliminary findings have shown that there is a large network operating from Kolkata, specializing in the guarantee of a bank guarantee to get government contracts on fraudulent. The agency suspects that this rocket could include several other private institutions and government officials.
