Bhopal police commissioner's instructions on the use of social media, steps on the proposal of the court
Bhopal, September 29 (IANS). After the Madhya Pradesh High Court proposed the policemen who banned the use of cell phones during service, Bhopal police commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said about the increasing influence of social media. He made it clear that the improper use of social media of policemen while on duty is harmful to the image and functioning of the police. The police commissioner said: “The influence of social media has increased in crimes as well as our common life. The use of social media gives both positive and negative consequences. Policemen are specially instructed not to use social media during duty.” He further informed that no policemen should place such roles or material on social media during duty, so that the image of the police is clapped or who are against the dignity of the police. Such material can also affect the work of police. He said: “If you keep in mind these things, policemen are repeatedly instructed to make limited and responsible use of social media. If a policeman is found to violate this instructions, action can be taken.” The Police Commissioner also acknowledged the importance of social media and said: “Social media is an important and effective tool in today’s times. Sometimes policemen use it during duty, but there are some negative aspects of it.
