Bhubaneswar: Diwali is aglow in the Baramunda football market

Bhubaneswar, October 20 (IANS). Amid the preparations for the Diwali festival, the Baramunda ground of Bhubaneswar is buzzing with fireworks buyers. Soumya, owner of a shop in this Baramunda football market, told about this year’s business and the security arrangements implemented in the market. Soumya said, “Around 50 stalls have been set up this year, but not all have been given the desired timings. Still, the routes and layout decided by the market authorities are being followed. Each stall has been given a unique number, and only licensed traders are allowed to sell.” He said that this system helps to maintain order in the market. Talking about the new security and surveillance systems, Soumya said, “This time QR codes and unique identification marks have been installed for better monitoring. The administration now allows only authorized sellers, which has curbed illegal sales.” Talking about the rush of customers, Saumya said, “People have been coming in good numbers since the very first day. With Diwali approaching, the next few days will be even busier. The market is bustling with activity throughout the day, and we are hopeful of good sales by the festive evening.” He says that the attitude of customers is positive, which is a good sign for the business. Soumya has seen enthusiasm among traders this time after the last few challenging years. He said: “After a long time we are hopeful of a good business season. We are satisfied with the right arrangements and customer service.” Baramunda Firecracker Market has not only become a center of business but also adds to the happiness of Diwali. Local people and buyers from outside feel the festive atmosphere in this market. –IANS SHK Share this story Tags
