Disclosure of the CAG report, ignores the forest protection law in Himachal, millions of schemes in balance
The latest report by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) raised serious questions about the operation of the government of Himachal Pradesh. The report revealed that Crores was spent by ignoring the Bos Protection Act in the state. The Rest House Cag, without approval, said in its report that the department raised five new rest houses at a cost of Rs 3.06 crore without pre -approval and action plan. These rest houses have eight rooms, including VIP rooms. This step is directly a violation of the provisions of the Forest Protection Act. The scheme associated with Atal tunnel for 13 years also revealed that the rubble habilitation scheme related to Atal -Tunnel Rohtang, even after 13 years of approval, could not be implemented. About Rs 12.09 crore would be spent on this scheme, but so far no concrete results have been shown on the ground. The questions raised about developmental works are evident from the objections of the CAG that due to departmental negligence, the law was not only ignored, but that public funds could not be utilized properly. Experts believe that if such projects are implemented in a transparent way, both tourism and environmental protection could benefit. Once the CAG report is claimed to determine the liability, the opposition raised the government’s claim to decide the liability and act against the responsible officials. At the same time, environmental lovers say that the disregard for the Forest Protection Act can have a profound impact on the sensitive ecology of the state. Share this story -tags
