Sherghati has the maximum number of candidates nominated while Barachatti has the least number of candidates. Now the nomination papers will be scrutinized and after that the candidates will be able to withdraw their names. The Election Commission is fully prepared to hold free and fair elections. 22 candidates filed nominations from Sherghati, 16 from Imamganj and 13 from Barachatti. On the last day of nomination, with tight security arrangements, candidates filed their nominations for the three assembly reserved seats of Sherghati, Imamganj and Barachatti in the premises of the sub-divisional office, Sherghati.
