Patna, October 18 (IANS). Congress Party on Saturday released the second list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Names of 5 candidates have been announced in this list. According to an official letter issued by the office of AICC general secretary (organization), KC Venugopal, the Congress has Shashwat Kedar Pandey from Narkatiaganj, Mohammad Kamrul Hoda from Kishanganj, Mohammad Irfan from Kasba, Jitendra Yadav from Purnia and Mohan Srivastava from Gaya Town introduced The nomination process for these constituencies will continue until October 20, while the second phase of voting is scheduled for November 11. The Congress had earlier announced 48 candidates in its first list. However, the party is facing heavy criticism from within the grand alliance for the delay in finalizing the arrangements to divide seats, which led to the first phase of nominations being carried out without clarity across several constituencies. The unrest within the party further escalated after party workers targeted Bihar Congress chief Krishna Allavaru at the Patna airport earlier this week. Angry activists accused him of large-scale irregularities in ticket sales and candidate selection. A video of this incident and the debate that took place at the Congress state office, Sadakat Ashram, also went viral on social media a few days ago. Adding to the uproar, Congress MP and senior leader Tariq Anwar publicly raised questions about the candidate selection process. Let us tell you that questions are being raised about the tickets in the Congress, the most important ally in the Grand Alliance. Congress spokesperson Anand Madhav sent his resignation to the national president. Many leaders, including Anand Madhav, accused many senior leaders of the state of bias and arbitrariness on the part of the party’s state leadership regarding ticket distribution. In Patna, many leaders including Congress Research Cell president Anand Madhav and former candidate Gajanand Shahi held a press conference and made serious allegations against state chief Krishna Allavaru and Congress state unit president Rajesh Ram. –IANS MS/PSK Share this story Tags
