Bihar meeting elections: BJP gives ticket to folk singer Maithili Thakur of Alinagar

Patna, October 15 (IANS). The folk singer Maithili Thakur will try her hand in Bihar meeting election. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted his candidate from the Alinagar seat in the Darbhanga district for the meeting election. The 25-year-old singer, from Benipatti in the Madhubani district, joined the party on Tuesday in the presence of Dilip Jaiswal, president of the BJP state. Right now, BJP played a big risk by fielding Maithili Thakur in the Bihar election. In doing so, the party will try to strengthen its position on Alinagar seat by taking advantage of the popularity of Maithili in the Mithilanchal region, especially among the youth and cultural enthusiasts. After joining the BJP on Tuesday, Thakur said: “I am very impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar. I came here to serve society and contribute to the development of Bihar.” He also expressed his desire to promote Maithili traditions through public service. According to sources, she had a meeting before Maithili Thakur’s entry into politics with the BJP election Vinod Tawde and the Minister of State of the Union of Nityanand Rai last week, which strengthened the speculation about her entry into politics. The first list of the BJP of 71 candidates, released earlier this week, included many experienced leaders and several new candidates. BJP’s first list was released according to the NDA’s agreement with the part of the seat, in which the party competes at 101 seats. The most important competition in Bihar is between the BJP-led NDA and the Grand Alliance. However, the Bihar election battle became interesting with the entry of the Jan Suraj party of Prashant Kishore. Let us tell you that the vote for the 243 member Bihar meeting will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, the results of which will be declared on November 14. -—Is DCH/ Share This Story Tags
