Bihar: Meeting elections can be held to Chhath in low stages

Patna, October 4 (IANS). Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) Dnyanesh Kumar along with election commissioner Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and dr. Vivek Joshi reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Bihar meeting in Patna on Saturday. During this time, political parties proposed to elections in low stages to Chhath. The Electoral Commission met political and state -level political parties in the state during a two -day review visit from Bihar. These include AAM AADMI Party, BSP, BJP, CPI (Marxist), Congress, National People’s Party, CPI (Male) (Liberation), JD (U), LJP (RAM Vilas), RJD and RLSP. During the meeting, the commission sought proposals from all parties and encouraged them to celebrate the election in a sense of celebration with voters. Meanwhile, the CEC mentions political parties as an important stakeholder of a strong democracy and asks for full participation in every phase of the election process. The Electoral Commission said political parties recently thanked the commission for cleaning the special intensive revisions (SIR) exercises and voter lists. He also repeated his faith in election processes. He said the parties suggested that elections should be held immediately after the Chhath festival for the purpose of maximizing the participation of voters and completing as much as possible. In addition, the parties also appreciated the various commission initiatives, including limiting the number of voters of the polling stations up to 1 200, which completed the counting of mail votes before the final round of the EVM -and the distribution of form 17C to party agents by the presiding officer (Pro). All parties expressed full confidence in the ability of the commission to ensure fair, independent and transparent elections. After discussing political parties, the commission did a detailed review with commissioners, IG, VIGS, Deo, SSP and SP on various aspects such as election plan, EVM management, law and order, and voter awareness. The commission ordered the officials to work with full impartiality and ensure a quick solution to the complaints of political parties. In addition, all district education officers and police superintendents were instructed to carefully watch the social media platforms for fake news and take quick legal action if needed. -Ians bag/DSC
