Samvad Sutra, Islampur (Nalanda). A peace committee meeting was held in the Islampur police station premises on Thursday over the festival of Diwali and Chhath. It was presided over by Anil Kumar Pandey, Head of Police Station. He heard the problems related to the festivals from the members present and assured to solve them. The police station chief said it would be mandatory for the puja committee to obtain a license to install the idol during Diwali. Pandals organizing cultural programs will also have to get separate permission, otherwise legal action will be taken against them. Firecracker shopkeepers will be required to set up shop to the standards. For this it is mandatory to take permission from the Municipal Council Office. In the context of Chhath Mahaparva he told that a large crowd gathers at Suryapokhar, Kobil, Atma, Veshvak and Sanda in Budhanagar of Islampur. Elaborate security arrangements will be made at all the gates. Especially in view of the huge crowd at Surya Pokhar, barricading arrangements will be made for the vehicles so that the devotees and other people do not face any problem. He also said that there will be a complete ban on DJs in this festival. Many people including sub inspector Ramanuj Singh, Kajal Kumari, Pooja Kumari, Krishna Kumar, former zip member Niwas Sharma, Shivdani Pandey were present in the meeting.
