Bilateral meeting of the Minister of Defense Sanjay Seth with Britain's Minister of Defense

New -delhi, October 10 (IANS). Defense Minister Sanjay Seth held a bilateral meeting with Lord Vernon Coker, Minister of Public Service for Defense of the United Kingdom, on Friday. The meeting was arranged during the visit of the UK Carrier Strike Group to India. During this, both leaders checked bilateral defense collaboration between India and the United Kingdom. During the meeting, both parties also discussed measures to further strengthen and broaden the continued defense cooperation programs between India and the United Kingdom. State Defense Minister Sanjay Seth expressed satisfaction that the British transport group, led by ‘Prince of Wales’ recently completed the seashore of the bilateral maritime exercise ‘Konkan-25’ with the Indian Navy on the West Coast of India. He said the CSG is currently participating in the port phase activities at Goa and Mumbai, which will further strengthen the operational synergy and collaboration between the two fleets. Defense Minister Sanjay Seth said such operational interactions and exercises increase mutual understanding between the two fleet and the two countries. It also strengthens interoperability. In the meeting, both ministers checked different dimensions of bilateral defense collaboration and talked about the production of defense equipment in respect of India’s confidence. The two ministers also discussed the progress in the development of Indian indigenous systems. India and the United Kingdom have repeated their dedication to strengthening all aspects of collaboration in the defense sector. Especially emphasis was placed on opportunities for partnership and investment in the global defense chain. Both parties have said that this collaboration will not only improve the defense capabilities of both countries, but will also open new possibilities in innovation, research and production between industries. Both ministers emphasize the need to strengthen maritime cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and the Indian Ocean. He talked about a free, open and rule -based international system. Also repeated his dedication to ensuring freedom of navigation to support such an arrangement. In the meeting, both parties reiterated their intention to practice a strong, multidimensional and mutually beneficial defense partnership under the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and ‘India-Uk Vision 2035’. It is noteworthy that ‘India -uk Vision 2035’ was adopted during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UK in July. The meeting was an important step towards the deepening of defense cooperation, industrial partnership and maritime safety between India and the United Kingdom.
