Birthday Special: Dharmendra took Sunny Deol’s class during his debut, which usually made him work through the night

New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). ‘Tara Singh’ fame actor Sunny Deol, who went to Pakistan and got rid of Pakistanis by uprooting a crane, is a fan favourite. Sunny has made a special place among the fans and the film industry with her patriotic films. The actor celebrates his 68th birthday on Sunday. She was born in Punjab to actor Dharmendra and his first wife Prakash Kaur. The actor wanted to work in films since childhood after seeing his father and being a star child, Sunny didn’t have to work hard to enter films. Sunny Deol’s childhood was a bit difficult as he had dyslexia due to which he had problems in reading, writing and even remembering. He himself revealed that he had to be beaten many times because of this disease. Very few people know that Sunny’s real name is Ajay Singh, but before entering films, Dharmendra changed his name to Sunny Deol. This name also suited him and gave continuous hit films in the industry. Sunny Deol is the son of veteran actor Dharmendra and acting is in his blood but before his debut in Hindi films he did an acting course. He learned the skills of acting at the Old World Theater in Birmingham and made his debut honing his craft. However, Sunny had to face a lot of scolding from Dharmendra during her film. He trained Sunny like a schoolboy. While narrating an anecdote, Dharmendra himself told that Sunny had to face a lot of scolding for his first film ‘Betaab’. He revealed that Sunny has completed the dubbing of the film and when I heard the dubbing, I got very angry. The dubbing was very bad. Hence, I re-dubbed the entire film through Sunny. During the film Betaab, Dharmendra made Sunny sit up all night dubbing the film and the actor’s condition became like that of a school child. Sunny learned a lot from her father from the first film. Dharmendra has taught a lot to both his sons at every opportunity since their entry into Bollywood, and perhaps that is the reason that both the sons are carrying on their father’s legacy today. Sunny Deol made a strong comeback in films after a long time with ‘Gadar-2’. After this the film ‘Jatt’ also bombed at the box office. Now comes the actor’s film ‘Lahore 1947’. –IANS PS/AS Share this story Tags
