Sanjay Jat, resident of Kalba village in Nangal Chaudhary police station area, was arrested in the joint action of Paniyala police station and DWT team Kotputli-Behror. SP Kotputli Devendra Vishnoi said that Sanjay Jat, an active member of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, resident of Kalba police station Nangal Chaudhary (Mahendragarh) was arrested. A reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on the accused and he was involved in organized crime activities like robbery, arms smuggling and extortion in Haryana-Rajasthan. A large quantity of weapons was recovered. SP Kotputli Devendra Vishnoi said that on receiving the information, the team laid siege and caught the accused from Binjahera mode. During the search, one foreign pistol (Bretta, Made in Italy) with six live cartridges and two magazines, seven country-made pistols, three country-made pistols, one Pakkira, five live cartridges, country-made pistol and nine live cartridges were recovered from him. Furthermore, an unnumbered Bolero camper which was used to make illegal weapons was also seized. The SP said that names of many more criminals are likely to come to light during the interrogation of the arrested accused. The police are currently trying to find out whether the weapons found with the accused were for the commission of any major crime or a plan was made to sell them.
