Bhubaneswar, September 21 (IANS). Odisha BJP Mla Agasti Behera openly welcomed the proposal of the state government, saying he expressed the ‘ॐ’ in schools under the Odisha school curriculum framework-2025 and included the presentation of Shlokas of Bhagavad Gita. In a conversation with Ians, Agasti Behera described this decision according to the cultural tradition of the state, saying that there should be no place for protest in it. He said: “Sing of ॐ and the presentation of the Gita’s Shlokas gives the soul peace. This tradition has been part of our lives for centuries and it must have been included in the education system in advance. I wish the school and minister of public education for this initiative.” MLA Behera further said that Bhagwat Gita is not only a religious texts, but that the teachings and verses given in it establish values such as peace, discipline and self -control. He believes that the lesson of Bhagavad Gita will help children study with concentration and dedication. He said: “After all, every person goes to the shelter of God at some point. In such a situation, if children get education of spiritual values from school life, they will not only become good students but also good people.” Behera also said that the time comes to promote the Indian culture and values in our education system. He describes it as “a strong step towards nation -building” and said that children can be made aware of the truths of religious tolerance, compassion and life by texts such as Bhagavad Gita. He also made it clear that it would not be a religious propaganda, but part of the ritual -based education.
