BJP turned GST into ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’: Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary

Murshidabad, September 22 (IANS). In Murshidabad, Western Bengals, congressional leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary launched a shocking attack on the central government over GST. He said that the basic spirit of GST of the congress and his government was aimed at implementing a uniform tax system across the country. He further said that Congress aims to limit GST to one or two pages so that ordinary citizens are comfortable in business and tax evasion. He accused the BJP of borrowing this policy from Congress and said that the BJP GST had implemented with great publicity, but transformed it into ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’. Complex plates of GST and high tax rates have plagued ordinary people and traders. He claimed that the congress had advocated from the beginning to make GST simple and effective, so that neither business people nor the government lost revenue. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary also questions the functioning of the GST Council. He said that if the Western Bengal losses suffer as a result of GST, as some people claim, why did the state government not opposed it in the GST council? He said the government first raised prices and then pretended to lower it. With the example, he said: “Suppose the price of something used to be ten rupees, it was first and foremost up to 100 rupees and then it is said that it is 50 rupees. The result is that 10 rupees are available for 50 rupees.” Chaudhary said the purpose of the GST policy of Congress was to promote economic development and make the tax system transparent, but the BJP government made it complicated and taxed the ordinary people and small business people. -Ians Aks/DSC shares this story -tags
