According to Reuters’ Witnesses, several explosions were heard in the capital of Qatar on Tuesday. Axios reporter Barak Ravid, citing Israeli officials, said the explosions were linked to an assassination attempt targeting Hamas officials. There was no immediate confirmation of the Qatari authorities or Hamas representatives about the incident. The extent of the explosions, number of casualties or the proposed targets remain unclear. IDF confirms the strike on Senior Hamas Leadership The Israeli Army (IDF) said it carried out an ‘exact strike’ against senior Hamas leaders, accusing them of aiming the group’s operations and was directly responsible for the attacks on October 7 at Israel. In a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (ISA) said the targeted officials orchestrated and managed Hamas’ ongoing war efforts against Israel. “These members of the Hamas leadership have led the operations of the terrorist organization for many years, are directly responsible for the brutal massacre on October 7, and have orchestrated and managed the war against the state of Israel,” the statement said. The IDF added that “measures were taken to reduce civilians, including the use of exact ammunition and additional intelligence, which underlines the intention to limit collateral damage. The military promised to continue operations” with determination to defeat the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for the slaughter on October 7. ” The statement did not specify the location of the strike.
