Jakarta -Governor of Northernsumatra (Northern Sumatra), Bobby Afif Nasution has set up a formulation to lower the price of airline tickets from and to Kualanamu International Airport. This step is part of an attempt to make Kualanamu the gate of the western region of Indonesia. Bobby said he and the Minister of Immigration and Corrections, before being appointed governor, wanted Kualanamu to become the most important airport from the entry of foreign tourists and domestic travelers to Northern Sumatra. “There are still many things to be addressed. One of them is the price of plane tickets that are still classified as very high,” Bobby said in his statement, Thursday (6/26/2025). Browse to continue with the content. It was transferred by Bobby when he introduced Autogate and Lounge PMI (Indonesian migrant workers) with Agus at Kualanamu Airport in Kualanamu last Tuesday (6/24). He added, President Prabowo Subianto’s attention to commodity prices and public services, including airline tickets, was a motivation for his party to find concrete solutions. Bobby said he has a strategic formula that can lower ticket prices, both for domestic routes such as Jakarta and international routes. “We talked to Kualanamu’s managing director about this,” he said. Furthermore, Bobby revealed that the decline in ticket prices will have a significant impact on the connectivity and competitiveness of Northern Sumatra, both nationally and internationally. He believes that if the ticket price can be consistently reduced, many international flights will open the route directly to Kualanamu, not just for 2-3 months, as is often the case so far. Bobby also appreciated the addition of Auteous Facilities and PMI services conducted by the Ministry of Immigration at the airport. According to him, the improvement of service infrastructure is in line with the vision to make Kualanamu Airport an important node in the growth of Northern Sumatra. “We want Northern Sumatra to become bigger and proud. With the cooperation and direction of the minister, we are sure that we can make it happen,” he concluded.
