Bobby Nasution releases One Thousand Trail of The Kings contestants on Lake Toba

Jakarta – Thousands of runners from various countries participated in the Trail of The Kings (ToTK) cross-country event in the Lake Toba area, Samosir Regency. The Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, was present to send off the participants in the 100 kilometer (100K) category at 03:00 WIB in Tuktuk, Simanindo District, Saturday (18/10). “We have just released participants in the 100 kilometer category of the Trail of The Kings, and this is the first time that it is held in the Lake Toba area. Of course, this is an important concern for us in the context of cooperation to promote tourism in North Sumatra. Over the past few days, thousands of people have come here, both from abroad and outside the province,” says Bobby/201 in his statement, Saturday (201/208). The committee is known to have prepared various supporting facilities to ensure the smooth running of the competition, including Water Stations and Aid Stations along routes that cross forests, hills, uphill roads and even asphalt roads. It is a source of pride and evaluation to improve the quality of welcoming tourists, from human resources to the management of tourism destinations. The first impression for visitors should be that they feel comfortable, enjoy and satisfied,” explains Bobby Nasution. For the 100K category, 61 participants from various countries took part, including runners from host Indonesia. All participants looked enthusiastic and ready to conquer various terrains to reach the finish line. The ToTK event, organized by Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), showcases the beautiful natural panorama of Lake Toba, which is a special attraction for participants and spectators from all over the world. Apart from the 100K category, North Sumatra Provincial Secretary Togap Simangunsong also released participants in the 60K category (60 kilometers) in the Waterfront City Pangururan area at 06:00 WIB, which was attended by about 100 runners from various countries. Followed by the 28K category with 340 participants, as well as the 10K and 5K which were attended by approximately 600 runners. There is also a 750 meter children’s category in which eight young participants took part. One of the 100,000 participants from Japan, Yusuke Takahashi, admitted that he was amazed by the beauty of Lake Toba and the friendliness of the local people. “This is the first time I’ve come to Lake Toba, and this place is extraordinarily beautiful. Maybe I’ll come again after this,” he said with a smile. As a supplement to the activities, the committee also prepared various musical entertainment, culinary stalls and cultural attractions as side events to liven up the evening atmosphere after the competition. The announcement of the winners of Trail of The Kings will take place on Sunday (19/10) in Pangururan.
