Cat Has ‘Trained’ Puppy Better Than Owner in Hilarious Clip – ryan
Training a dog can be challenging for some owners, but not for a cat named Gordon, from British Columbia, Canada, who according to his owner, trained her 2-month-old puppy better than she could have.
a viral tiktok video shared on Saturday by the pets’ owner under the username @watchintinktonks shows the puppy, a Great Pyrenees, Bernese mountain dog, and Caucasian shepherd mix, Xena, following the black cat around.
However, Gordon doesn’t seem to be amused by his little sister’s presence, and immediately puts her in her place. He doesn’t even have to say anything, as soon as he looks at her, the pup immediately sits down, as if following his orders.
“POV (point of view): your cat has your puppy trained better than you do,” the poster writes in the clip. “What’s his secret,” the caption continues.
While dogs are usually bigger and stronger than cats, it is not uncommon for them to feel intimidated by their feline counterparts.
Veterinarian advice website Canada Vet says that this fear is usually due to a mix of instincts, the cats’ powerful personalities, and past experiences, like getting bitten or scratched by a cat as a puppy.
Some dog breeds, especially smaller ones, or those bred for companionship, are even more likely to be afraid of felines than others.
However, in most cases, dogs and cats can live together peacefully, without starting fights or feeling intimidated by one another, a 2020 study by Italian scientists, published in the journal PLOS ONE found.
Findings from the study show that over 64 percent of the cats and dogs living together also played together, 58 percent chased each other and 41 percent fought. Almost two-thirds of the pets sometimes playfully “ambushed” each other.
