Jakarta – The Indonesian Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) held a socialization of Halal certification obligations towards members of the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni) yesterday. Head of BPJPH Ahmad Haikal Hasan emphasized that the implementation of Halal product guarantees should ensure the affordability and inclusiveness for all levels of society, including vulnerable groups. “BPJPH is committed to the services we offer is friendly to all groups, including people with disabilities. Our basics are to provide protection and legal security for consumers, as well as opening broader business opportunities for UMK actors in Indonesia,” Haikal said in a written statement on Monday (29/9/2025). It is intended that the distribution of information on Halal product guarantees is sufficiently transferred. Chuzaemi explained that strengthening JPH’s coaching is one of the keys, so that Halal certification obligations can be evenly understood and implemented. “With the synergy of different parties, we want no community groups left behind to obtain Halal information or services,” Chuzaemi said. On the other hand, Director of Bina JPH, Mohammad Farid Wadjdi explained that Halal certification is an obligation regulated in the Act number 33 of 2014 on Halal product guarantee. He emphasized that Halal certification is no longer just an option, but an obligation regulated by the state. “The JPH law explicitly states that products that are distributed and traded in the field of Indonesia must be distributed and traded. This obligation is a form of government protection against consumers in Indonesia,” Farid explained. Farid said Halal certification certainly also has great benefits for consumers and business people. Halal -certified products not only guarantee consumer safety, but also increase the added value and competitiveness of products at national and international level. BPJPH hopes this activity will have the face of sharing knowledge and opening a discussion room so that all consumers, including blind friends, can feel safe and comfortable to choose halal products. Chairman II of the Empowerment and Organization of Pertuni DPP, I Nyoman Bawa expressed his appreciation for the BPJPH for the implementation of this socialization. “We would like to thank our infinite happiness, because BPJPH is delighted to engage us, pertuni, who is an empowerment organization for the blind in all regions of Indonesia,” he said. Nyoman emphasized that most of the Pertuni members were UMKM businesses, so that information on Halal certification was needed. “Our hope is that this activity will not stop here, but can be continued in a door to door to branch out Pertuni members in districts and cities in all regions of Indonesia. In this way, this important information can be widely transferred to all Pertuni members,” he explained.
