Lucknow, October 18 (IANS). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured from the Lucknow-based BrahMos Aviation unit. During this Chief Minister Yogi said that BrahMos is the most capable weapon to protect not only India but our friendly countries in the world. As the first batch of missiles was launched amid chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, the ceremony reverberated with pride, glory and patriotism. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that BrahMos is the most capable weapon to protect not only India but its friendly countries in the entire world. He said that due to the efforts of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BrahMos was developed in Lucknow, which became a medium for the prosperity of the country. Only when a person is safe does he sleep peacefully. The missile made in Lucknow is a guarantee of safety and prosperity of the entire country. The Chief Minister said that this moment of realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ promise in Lucknow is heartening. He said that this missile not only ensures the security of India but is also the most capable weapon to protect its friendly countries in the world. Through BrahMos, India could meet its own needs as well as the security needs of friendly nations. For this I express my sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Referring to the first investors’ summit of 2018, CM Yogi said that the Prime Minister in Lucknow himself announced two defense manufacturing corridors, out of which Uttar Pradesh got one. The work of Defense Manufacturing Corridor is progressing successfully in 6 nodes of Uttar Pradesh namely Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi and Chitrakoot. Projects like BrahMos in Lucknow, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) in Jhansi and AK-203 in Amethi are underway. So far, more than 2,500 hectares of land has been made available in these 6 nodes, providing employment to more than 15,000 youth. He said that the youth with ITI, Polytechnic and engineering degrees are working in the BrahMos center, providing both security and employment to the country. This is the foundation of independent India. CM Yogi said that the state government is setting up two ‘centres of excellence’ in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU, which will promote defense technology and innovation. CM Yogi said that DG Brahmos handed over a GST check of Rs 40 crore today. Every year 100 BrahMos missiles will be made, which will increase to 150, then Rs 150-200 crore GST will be available. CM Yogi mentioned a new industrial corridor of 56,000 acres in Jhansi and said that a node on the highway is being developed in Chitrakoot. Two centers of excellence are being worked on with IIT Kanpur and BHU. He reiterated his intention to make Make in India Make for the World. He said that due to the efforts of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BrahMos was developed in Lucknow, which became a medium to spread the wealth of the country. During the programme, the Defense Minister and the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Booster building, which is an important step to expand the capacity of the BrahMos project. Both also saw the demonstration of the charging process. In the same order, presentation of airframe and avionics, PDI (Pre-Dispatch Inspection) and BrahMos simulator equipment in Warhead Bhawan was also shown. Apart from this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also planted Rudraksha sapling on the campus itself. During this period, storage trolley demonstration and mobile autonomous launcher were also demonstrated. During the programme, DG (BrahMos) Dr. Jayateertha R.
