BrahMos missile is the biggest proof of India's strength and self-reliance: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh
Lucknow, October 18 (IANS). On the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his views on the country’s defence, technological self-reliance and development of Uttar Pradesh in the program of BrahMos Missile Unit. He said that today is a matter of pride not only for Lucknow but for the entire country. Rajnath Singh said at the beginning of his speech, “I pray to Mahadev that his blessings remain on all the countrymen.” He said that for him Lucknow is not just a parliamentary constituency but a place associated with emotions. Expressing his happiness over the rapid development of Lucknow, he said that as the credibility of BrahMos increases with time, the identity of Lucknow will also become stronger. The Defense Minister said missiles like BrahMos are not only a technical achievement but also a symbol of the country’s growing power and self-reliance. He said, “Today, the country’s most modern missile is manufactured in Lucknow. This is not an ordinary event, it is a practical proof of India’s security and capability. He said that the successful use of BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor not only proved India’s military capability but also boosted the country’s confidence. From big cities to small towns, everyone now feels this strength of India.” Talking about the transformation of Uttar Pradesh, he said that there was a time when the state was known as ‘Gundaraj’, investors used to shy away from coming here. But today, under the strong leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the face of Uttar Pradesh has changed. The Defense Minister further said that India will now get all the technology irrespective of the level. Whether it is big or small, it will have to be developed in the country itself. He said: “We must not depend on foreign countries, not even for parts. Along with large industries, small industries will also have to expand. This is real self-reliance.” Rajnath Singh said projects like BrahMos not only strengthen the country’s security but also strengthen the economy. He said, “Each missile not only protects us but also creates new opportunities for employment and development. BrahMos is not just a weapon but a medium to bring new light to society.” At the end of the programme, he mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of ‘Developed India by 2047’ and said that the defense sector will play a crucial role in fulfilling this vision. He said that forces like BrahMos ensure that ‘Make in India a slogan’ is no longer the VANS but just a VANSKU.
