Jakarta – Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva gave a souvenir to President Prabowo Subianto during his state visit at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. He gave him a soccer jersey with the number eight. “And one more thing, President, I give you jersey number 8. Because when I played football before, my position was on the right wing, and I wore number 8,” Lula said during a joint press release session with Prabowo in the credentials room, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (23/10/2025). Lula revealed the reason for giving the number eight jersey. He said the number eight is his and Prabowo’s lucky number. Lula then said he would attend the state dinner with Prabowo and the delegates. The dinner event, he said, was also a moment to celebrate his and Prabowo’s birthday, which falls in October. “Thank you for your invitation. I will be at the event tonight to celebrate your birthday,” Lula said. “How old are you now? 74? Unbelievable. I’m 80. So I’m old enough to be your father. Thanks, see you tonight,” he concluded.
