It begins with the chemical process in collaboration with sulfur compounds present in onions. This process produces a guest called ‘Sin-Profenetial-S-Oxide’. This gas dissolves in the air and reaches the eyes and causes irritation. When the gas comes into contact with the eyes, light acid is formed by the moisture of the eyes. Therefore, eyes cast tears and protect themselves from jealousy. Tears do not come from every onion. Some onion has a low sulfur content, such as spring on AIN, therefore it causes less irritation. While red, white and yellow onions are more sulfur, your eyes quickly come to your eyes. If you want to avoid tears from onion, then take on some easy tricks. For example, cool the onion in the fridge before cutting or using a sharp knife. If there are many problems, you can wear glasses while cutting onions or cutting it near the fan, so that the gas is spread before reaching the eyes.
