New York’s Summer Streets initiative is another weekend. Activities are planned from 7am to 3pm local time. A route from the Brooklyn bridge will be completely closed to vehicles to Dyckman Street, CBS reports. The Summer Streets initiative enables people to walk, run, cycling and enjoying more entertainment in the streets over the weekend. In total, 22 miles of roads will be closed for the event. This is the third consecutive weekend of summer streets in Manhattan. The 2025 edition started in Staten Island and Queens in July. This includes FDR Drive, Park Row North, Pearl Street and Chambers Street. “The usual traffic sounds and horns will be replaced by open streets with hikers, motorcyclists, runners and artists. Buses are redirected along the Summer Street route and parking will be limited along the route, from 17:00 the night before each occasion until 16:00 the day of the event.
