New -Delhi, April 10 (PTI), German home appliances, Major BSH reported a ‘significant growth’ from the Indian market in 2024, where the company intends to increase its localization by the end of 2025 to 75 percent, its global management said on Thursday. The local subsidiary BSH Home Appliances India was witnessing a constant positive sales moment, fueled by rising consumers’ aspirations for premium built-in devices and solutions to higher capacity in 2024, the company said in its annual Global Press briefing. The dishwasher segment also contributed significantly to the overall growth story of BSH India, they added. BSH works in India with its three brands bosch, Siemens and Gaggenau and has a manufacturing unit near Chennai for washing machine, frost-free refrigerators and cooking plates. Munich, Germany headquarters BSH, reported a ‘solid growth’ with an increase in turnover to 15.3 billion euros in 2024. In the emerging markets, including Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the continent of Africa, BSH had a strong turnover growth of nearly 14 percent. “BSH has produced a significant growth in Türkiye, the Middle East, Africa and India,” said the top global management, which includes CEO Matthias Metz and CFO Thorsten Lücke. About the Indian business in 2024, BSH said Siemens Cooking delivered its highest sales growth at 22 percent, with built -in ovens contributing more than 50 percent to the category. “The segment of the dishwasher also contributed significantly to BSH India’s overall growth story. The category grew by 13 percent between January and December 2024,” BSH said. This growth extends beyond numbers, which indicates a shift in consumer behavior, as Indian households are increasingly prioritizing hygiene, comfort and water conservation. About localization, the German device manufacturer said: ‘BSH’s strategy’ Make in India ‘remains a cornerstone of growth, with the aim of improving the localization by 2025 by 70-75 percent. “The company has a current localization level of 60 percent.
