Electricity distribution companies in Bihar collected record revenue. Energy -Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav credited this achievement to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said it was possible because of the visionary leadership of Nitish Kumar and the positive impact of the public oriented policy of the state government. Both assistant distribution companies from Bihar State Power Holding Company set a new record by raising Rs 2,005 crore, or 13.27 percent more revenue than the previous financial year. From the total revenue of Rs 17,114 crore raised by the distribution companies, NBPDCL Rs 7,937 crore and SBPDCL earn Rs 9,177 crore. He also thanked all the consumers of the state while congratulating the energy department officials, officials of both distribution companies, all the engineers and all the employees who were revenue collection for record revenue. He said distribution companies achieved this achievement because of constant cooperation of the people of the state and the early payment of electricity bills. The 24×7 Minister of Electricity Energy said that consumers regularly pay their electricity bills due to mutual coordination between the public and the Department of Energy, good services of businesses and availability of 24×7 quality power supply. For this reason, distribution companies have collected record revenue. He said that good customer service, strengthening customer -grievance correction system and direct communication with people also play an important role in collecting income. Energy secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal said that invoice and collection efficiency is a benchmark for evaluating the performance of the distribution companies. Due to increased billing and collection efficiency and productivity, distribution companies have been able to provide continuous service to clients of the state over the past few years without any extra financial burden. The reduction of the electricity rate 15 Paise per unit in the financial year 2023-24, due to good revenue collection, in the financial year 2024-25, all consumers will also receive the benefit of lowering 15 paise per unit in electricity figures. Due to the good income collection, electricity is provided to consumers who have consumed more than 50 units in rural areas at a concession rate of 54 paise per unit, 79 paise to rural smart meter consumers and 25 paise per unit to smart prepaid meters in urban areas. AT&C loss to deficit -energy secretary said that these record income was also possible due to a significant contribution of distribution companies in reducing AT & C deficiency and the timely completion of projects that reduced losses below RDSS.
