Haryana general secretary Anurag Rastogi issued an order stating that Eid-Uid-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31, 2025 as a banned holiday in place of the Gazetted Holiday, which was a partial amendment to the government notice issued on 26.12.2024. He said in his command that it was done because March 29 and 30, 2025, the weekend holidays and March 31 is the last day of the financial year 2024-2025. This letter was issued to all departments. What is a limited holiday? Limited holiday is an alternative holiday (RH) that employees can choose whether or not they want to take. Limited holiday is a kind of holiday in which employees have the option to choose whether or not they want to take leave. Government offices will be open to Eid after this order of the government of Haryana, now all government offices in the state will be open on Eid. However, some people may take leave on this day. Although Eid has been removed from the holiday list in Haryana, people from the Muslim community can decrease a day of this day. Why was this change done? Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated across the entire India on March 31, which is also the last day of the financial year 2024-25. However, the Reserve Bank of India also canceled the holiday on 31 March.
