Canada asks “Tok Tok” to liquidate its branch in the country due to the dangers of national security

Canada has ordered the company “byte -dance” to liquidate its subsidiary “Tech Tech Technology”, although this step cannot prevent Canadians from using the famous social video application supported by China. The decision comes after a review of national security, with evidence and advice of Canadian Security and Intelligence agencies, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Minister of Industry Francois Philip Chambine. In 2023, the country joined allies, including the United States and the European Union, to prohibit applications on the government’s bodies. In a blog post, Michael Gist, a legal professor at the University of Ottawa, said it was a ‘strange’ step, adding that ‘the ban on the company could actually make things worse, because the risks associated with the application will remain, but the ability to keep the business will weaken.’ Earlier in 2020, US President -Skend Donald Trump tried to ban ‘Tok Tok’. In April, a bilateral bilateral draft law ‘byte was approved to abandon his share in the ownership of’ Tok Tok ‘, or to confront an American ban. “Tek Talk” is fighting against the law in court. In July, however, Trump told “Bloomberg Business Week” he is now “with Tok Tok because you have to compete.” The representatives of ‘Tik Talk’ in Canada immediately did not respond to the suspension requests.
