The accident happened when the LED lights of the speeding car coming from the front fell into the eyes of the tractor driver Manoj (39) and he was blinded. As a result, the tractor went out of control and overturned in a deep field on the side of the road. Manoj and his neighbor Yogesh (25) were buried under the tractor, killing both of them instantly. The police reached the spot, took possession of both the bodies and sent them to the District Civil Hospital, where the bodies were handed over to their relatives after postmortem. The police are now looking for the unknown car driver and are investigating the CCTV installed around the town. Yogesh’s friend Manish told the police that Manoj and Yogesh were going on a tractor to supply canal water to the fields. Manoj drove a tractor. As soon as he came out of town, his eyes were blinded by the bright LED light from the headlights of a car in front. As a result, the tractor overturned in a deep field and Manoj and Yogesh got buried under it. Villagers said that both of them called for help but could not reach them at night to help them. By the time people reached the place, both of them were dead. The police say the investigation into the cause of the accident continues and action will be taken against the guilty driver. Manish used to farm by taking land on contract. Manish told that Manoj used to farm on contract on about four acres of land and that the family survived only through farming. He leaves behind his wife and 11-year-old son. While Yogesh started farming after studying till 12th. His elder brother, Deepak, works in Delhi Police. Yogesh was unmarried and lived at home with his parents. Driving on high light became the reason for the accident. Villagers said that the car driver was driving on high beam due to which the accident happened. On the police side, there is a fine of Rs 500 for first time driving with high beam and Rs 1,500 for second time driving with high beam, but till date Sonipat Police has not booked any driver for high beam. Chinese LED lights are also installed in new vehicles, providing bright light. Many times it becomes the cause of accidents because nothing is visible in front of them. Most of the heavy vehicles on the highways run on high beam, while this is wrong because high beam is only used to give dipper. The police have registered a case against the unknown driver under various sections.
