Bangladeshi -Mango has entered the Chinese market for the first time
Beijing, May 29 (IANS). The 3 tonnes of mango produced in Bangladesh flew from Dhaka and arrived at Huangua Airport in Chhangasha, the capital of Hunan Province China. Customs officials at Huanghua Airport investigated freight labels, cytamamis certificates and other documents on the incoming fruit inspection grounds and performed a quarantine inspection on packaging and fruits. After no abnormalities were found, this group of mangoes was released the same evening. This is the first time China has introduced Bangladesh mangos, which is a new success in the collaboration of agricultural products between China and Bangladesh. Mango is a geographical signal product of Bangladesh, which means in Bengali ‘Sea of Snow and Snow’. It is planned to enter China’s domestic e-commerce, supermarkets and fresh food chains. Earlier, Bangladeshi mangos were mainly exported to the Middle East and the European Union market. After success in exports to China, it is expected to exceed 100 tons in the first year. According to the person responsible for the animals and plantation of the Chhangasha Dubs, the Chinese custom administration in July 2024 issued an announcement to allow the import of fresh mangoes from Bangladesh. This year is the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh. It is reported that the economic and trade cooperation in China-Bangladesh has developed high level in recent years. China has been the largest trading partner in Bangladesh for 15 consecutive years.
