Central Government's commitment to bringing hilly tribal community into the mainstream: Manoj Sinha
Srinagar, September 27 (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha addressed a conference of the Hill tribal community in Srinagar on Saturday. During this, he informed that the central government was committed to bringing the hilly tribal community into the mainstream of society. Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha began his speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with reference to the historical decision to give scheduled tribes’ status to the hilly ethnic groups. The Lieutenant -Governor said the empowerment of tribal communities is the most important priority of the central government. He said that the dedication of the central government brings the hilly tribal community into the mainstream and their empowerment will form a strong and rich union area. I believe that the vision of permanent development and inclusive wealth will form the bright future of the tribal community in Jammu and Kashmir Union area. The lieutenant -governor said: “Last year there is a need to constantly make efforts to ensure the development of the community that is provided by the scheduled tribes by Parliament last year, as their wealth is basically associated with our inclusive development goal.” In response to the claims made by the representatives of the Hill community, Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha said that it would be ensured that the hilly ethnic groups got their rights according to the law accepted by Parliament. Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha has encouraged all parts of the tribal communities and society to actively combat extremist propaganda to unite from terrorism and protect peace and stability. Lieutenant -Governor Manoj Sinha said some divisive elements are trying to distribute false narratives such as the terrorist organization TRF. This is a serious danger and people have to compete with it. On this occasion, the Lieutenant -Governor also paid tribute to Lord Birsa Munda. The program was attended by former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig, former legislative councilor and chairman of Pahari Kalyan Samiti, Mr. Zafal Iqbal Manhas, chairman of the Pahari culture and Kalyan Manch, Mr. Raja Ejaz Ali, various Hill leaders and a large number of members of the Hill Tribal community. -Ians Akks/SCH Share this Story Tags
