Chairman and members of Haryana Human Rights Commission met CM Saini

Chandigarh, October 18 (IANS). Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was met by Haryana Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice Lalit Batra and members Kuldeep Jain and Deep Bhatia at his residence on Saturday. During this, the Commission presented a copy of the Annual Report 2024-2025 to the Chief Minister and informed about its work and achievements related to the protection of human rights in the state. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised the functioning of the Commission and said that such decisions should be implemented which can provide justice and respect to the common people. He said that the state government is always committed to protect human rights and the suggestions of the commission will be seriously implemented. During the meeting, the Commission presented the details of its activities of the past year. It was informed that until now 5,542 cases have been heard in the Commission, of which 4,638 cases have been concluded. Only 904 cases are still pending. The commission also informed that every month it inspects one prison and social institution in the state to monitor the human rights conditions of prisoners and needy sections of the society. The Commission informed the Chief Minister that the Haryana model was especially appreciated during the recent 32nd Foundation Day celebrations of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The work and transparency of the Haryana Human Rights Commission has been held up as a role model for other states. The Chief Minister congratulated the Commission on this achievement and said that the Haryana Government and the Commission together will further strengthen the protection of human rights in the state. He said that the work of the Commission not only raises awareness in the society but is also helpful in providing speedy justice to the victims. At the end of the meeting, the Chief Minister and the members of the Commission wished each other a happy Diwali.
