Jakarta – Chairman of the DPD RI, Sultan B. Najamudin, distributed aid for agricultural tools and equipment (alsintan), corn seeds and fertilizers directly to farmer groups in Padang Jaya District, North Bengkulu Regency. This agenda was implemented in an effort to strengthen the Senator Cares about Food Security program. This activity was also attended by various elements of the regional government, from the sub-district head, village head, head of the North Bengkulu Regency BPHP service, community leaders, to representatives of farmer groups from a number of villages in the Padang Jaya district area. In his speech, the Sultan emphasized that food security is the main pillar to maintain the nation’s social and economic stability. “This program is not just a distribution of aid, but rather a real form of state concern by the DPD RI for farmers who are at the forefront of maintaining national food security,” Sultan said in a written statement on Tuesday (10/21/2025). According to him, this activity is an important momentum in strengthening cooperation between the DPD RI, Regional Government and farming communities in the realization of national food independence and the acceleration of economic growth based on sustainable agriculture. “Hopefully this program will be the first step towards a strong and productive town’s economic independence,” he concluded. The head of the North Bengkulu Regency BPHP service in his speech expressed his full appreciation and support for the DPD RI’s consistent steps to fight for the agricultural sector. “We from the North Bengkulu Regency BPHP Service welcome this Senator Cares about Food Security program. The agricultural machinery, seed and fertilizer assistance provided today is very relevant to our efforts to encourage increased productivity and efficiency of farming in the region,” he said. He also emphasized that cooperation between the central government, DPD RI and regional governments will be key to strengthening the foundations of regional food security. “We hope that synergy like this will continue, because farmers not only need tools and facilities, but also technical assistance and market access so that agricultural products provide real welfare for the community,” he added. Meanwhile, the head of Padang Jaya Village, Karyadi, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for DPD RI’s attention to the village community. “We, on behalf of all the residents and farmer groups of Padang Jaya Village, are very grateful for this assistance. The agricultural equipment and seeds we receive will be important capital to increase agricultural productivity, especially maize, which is our superior commodity,” he said. Karyadi also emphasized that this aid will be used as best as possible by farmer groups so that the results can be felt by the whole community. Meanwhile, the head of Padang Jaya district, Soeni, in his speech expressed his appreciation for the presence of the chairman of the DPD RI who paid direct attention to farmers in his area. “We feel honored and proud of the presence of the Chairman of the DPD RI in our midst. His presence not only brings assistance but also enthusiasm and motivation for farmers to continue to produce,” he said. Soeni also invited all farmers to maintain and put to good use assistance for agricultural progress in the Padang Jaya district area. The aid distributed includes superior maize seeds, agricultural fertilizers, agricultural machinery (Alsintan) and other agricultural support equipment. All assistance is delivered directly to the beneficiary farmer groups in the hope of increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the planting and harvesting process. (acn/ega)
