Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission XIII Dewi Asmara said the DPR agreed on the completion of the royalty of the song. Dewi said the royal rate of the song will be adapted to the type of business until the duration of the music. “Royalty tariffs will be adapted to the type of business, room area and duration of music version. This scheme will facilitate the burden of business, but still guarantee the rights of musicians,” Dewi on Monday (8/25/2025) told reporters. According to him, the review will make the royal mechanism of songs clear. “This revision will make the mechanism of withdrawal, distribution and royalties clear, so that it no longer causes noise,” Dewi said. He said the government and parliament would increase public understanding and business on the importance of royalties. Furthermore, Dewi hopes that this agreement will not worry about playing songs again. As long as he said, they can follow the appropriate mechanism. “This royalties polemical settlement will create a healthier music industry ecosystem. Musicians get appropriate appreciation for their work, while business operations can continue to contribute to the cultural industry without feeling taxed,” he said. He emphasized that reviewing the copyright and digitization of the royal system can be the key to the sustainability of a fair, accountable and modern system. The consultation meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Adian Kadir and chairman of the House of Representatives Commission XIII Willy Aditya.
