Champions League: Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea won

Madrid, October 23 (IANS). Real Madrid continued their excellent start to their Champions League campaign by beating Juventus 1-0. This team scored nine points in three games. Madrid maintained dominance in the first half of the match, but no goal could be scored. Madrid’s best chance came on the break. Kylian Mbappe latched on to Brahim’s impressive pass and fired a powerful left-footed drive from inside the box, but Di Gregorio’s brilliant reaction stop prevented the Frenchman from scoring in the 40th minute. Jude Bellingham broke the deadlock after the break and scored in the 57th minute to give Real Madrid a 1-0 lead. In another game, Liverpool scored three goals in 10 minutes of the first half and won 5-1 over Frankfurt. The Reds came from behind at Deutsche Bank Park to snap a four-match losing streak and record just their second win in the league stage this season. Rasmus Christensen scored the first goal of the game in the 26th minute, after which Hugo Akitike leveled the score at 1-1 with a brilliant goal. After this, Virgil van Dijk (39) and Ibrahima Konate (44) turned the game around by scoring from the corner in the first half. Liverpool led in this match with 3-1. Goals from Cody Gakpo (66) and Dominic Szoboszlai (70) in the second half secured victory for Arne Slott’s team. On the other hand, Chelsea defeated Ajax 5-1. Marc Guiyu opened the account of the game by scoring a goal in the 18th minute. After this, Moises Caicedo scored in the 27th minute. After 33 minutes, Ajax’s Wout Weghorst reduced Chelsea’s lead by scoring from the penalty spot, but just before half-time Chelsea were 4-1 ahead.
