Jagran correspondent, Chandigarh. After four years, the court acquitted six accused in the case of kidnapping a 15-year-old child and demanded Rs 50 Lakh loose prize in Kishangarh. Many defects in the police investigation came to light in this case. Police created a story that the child who was about to be kidnapped saw the cellphone of a kidnapper who had a wallpaper on it. When the kidnapper was caught, he identified himself from the same cellphone and wallpaper. However, police were unable to offer the cellphone in court. The child said the kidnappers were wearing masks so he couldn’t identify them. In addition, the weapon with which the child was threatened found a toy gun during the investigation. Advocates as Gujral and Vijay Kumar, who fought the case of the accused, said during the debate that the police had involved them in a false case. According to the case, when the child was kidnapped, two of his friends were with him. One of them refused to identify the kidnappers in court while police did not testify one. The police won a lot of applause by resolving this case, but could not prove it in court. The child was restored after a few hours. Four years ago, kidnappers kidnapped the child and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 Lakh from his father. However, the child was recovered a few hours later and six kidnappers were arrested two days later. Those who are now acquitted include Vishal Kumar Gupta, Pankaj Kumar, Rohit Alias Happy, resident of Kishangarh, Rajat alias Monu, Mukesh Alias Mickey, resident of Ramdarbar and Ajay Sharma, resident of Baltana, Mohali.
