The IMF statement said that the discussion includes the current reform of the energy sector, as well as other structural reforms of the Pakistan’s power sector. India said it was “grateful” for the 11 additional conditions imposed by the IMF on Pakistan. At the same time, serious concerns were raised at the time of the recently given bailout package by India, which indicates that the fund would indirectly support Pakistan’s growing defensive spending. This bail came when Pakistan responded to India’s operation Sindoor. India was asked to reconsider the bail, as Pakistan allows terrorists to use their land to carry out state attacks against Indian citizens. The IMF has set 11 new conditions on Pakistan to release the next installment of its bail package. -Ians skt/kr share this story -tags
