Global Markets Today: Asia-Pacific markets mostly decreased on Thursday when investors were waiting for the Bank of Korea’s policy decision. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 0.52 percent, while the Topix fell by 0.33 percent. The Kospi of South Korea dropped 0.43 percent, and Kosdaq’s small cap fell 0.15 percent. In contrast, the S&P/ASX 200 of Australia increased by 0.1 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was at 24.997, which started a weaker compared to the previous closure of 25.201.76. Focus will also move to Indian markets while reopening after the Wednesday holidays, with new secondary US rates of 25 percent on Indian consignments coming into effect, increasing total export duties to 50 percent.
