A four-day event is being organized by Purvanchal Jan Jagriti Sanstha. The fasting women will bathe in the Ganga and eat special food. Prasad of Kheer-Puri will be made on Kharna. Devotees will offer Arghya to the setting and rising sun. This festival is celebrated with wishes of prosperity, health and happiness. Preparations for Chhath festival begin from town to town. Before this, a grand Kalash Yatra will be taken out on October 24. Preparations for the four-day Chhath festival have been started by Purvanchal Jan Jagruti Sanstha. Founder President Brahmashankar Choubey and President Manoj Kumar Shukla told that Chhath Puja, the great festival of folk faith, will begin on October 25 with Nahay-Khay. On the first day, women fasting for Chhath will bathe in the Ganges and eat gourd and gram dal vegetables and rice. It is also called Nahay-Khay. On October 27, the third day, the fasting women of Purvanchal, family members of the organization will offer Arghya to the setting Sun Narayan along with various types of dishes and seasonal fruits at the Ganga ghats. The organization’s center will be available for cooperation at Harki Paidi Malviya Island. On the fourth day of October 28, the fasting devotees will break the fast by offering cow’s milk to Lord Rising Sun and distributing Prasad.
