Chhath festival is a celebration of the folk culture of all India including Bihar and Purvanchal: CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). In view of the Chhath festival, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinay Kumar Saxena. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta informed that Chhath is an immortal tradition of faith, discipline and motherhood. We are determined that every devotee and devotee in Delhi should get a clean, safe and divine environment. He said that preparations are underway by the Delhi government on war footing to celebrate Chhath, the great festival of faith, devotion and folk culture, with unprecedented grandeur and divinity. This festival is a celebration of the cultural tradition of Bihar and Purvanchal as well as the folk culture of all India, giving the message of nature, discipline and faith through sun worship. Earlier while giving information on social media platform ‘X’, CM Rekha Gupta said that the preparations for the organization of Chhath Mahaparva today on the banks of Munak Canal from Prembadi Bridge, Singalpur were examined. Preparations are going on at a brisk pace at Chhath sites from the banks of Yamuna to various areas of the capital. Arrangements for tents, sanitation, toilets, security, water supply and cultural programs are ensured to the highest standards. He said that this time Chhath festival in Delhi will not only be a festival of faith but also of togetherness, cleanliness and harmony. Visited Sur Ghat today to review the preparations for Chhath Mahaparva. Instructions were given to the officials that all necessary facilities like tents, electricity, sanitation, toilets, drinking water and security should be ensured at every ghat in time so that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience. CM Rekha Gupta said that this time our government is organizing a grand and divine Chhath festival on the banks of Yamuna. Preparations are on war footing so that every devotee can get a clean, safe and reverent environment. This is the first time that the Chhath festival is being organized on such a grand scale on the ghats of Yamuna in Delhi. He wrote that just as Delhi celebrated Diwali for the first time on the path of duty with grandeur and unity of lamps, similarly the great faith festival Chhath will also be celebrated on the banks of Yamuna with the same reverence, enthusiasm and dignity. –IANS MS/DKP Share this story Tags
