Tapashree Dance Academy set a world record in Sikkim
Gangstok, May 17 (IANS). The Tapashree Dance Academy set a world record by performing a pinch of dances with 1100 dancers at Paljor Stadium in commemorating the 50th state day of Sikkim. The program was attended by students from 18 government schools, who were officially recognized by the International Book of Records. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang appreciated the Academy for displaying the cultural pride of Sikkim. Komal Gurung, the owner of the Academy, shared his happiness, “It took us a month in this rehearsal. It was possible and successful because of the team and my dream.” Amarpreet Kaur, the Judge of the International Book of Records, praised choreography and coordination and described it as an excellent cultural achievement. He wrote, “On the 50th anniversary of the state of Sikkim, I give sincere greetings and best wishes to the Sikkimis.” He said: “May 16, 1975 was an important turn in our history. This was the day when Sikkim formally joined the Indian Union and moved forward with a future that was full of promises, unity and democratic aspirations.
