Beijing, October 21 (IANS). Kang Shuang, China’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, said that in the current turbulent international situation, the international community must uphold the international order centered on the United Nations, the international order based on international law, and the basic parameters of international relations based on the goals and principles of the UN Charter. Kang Shuang, who delivered a speech at a conference of the Sixth Committee of the 80th UN General Assembly, said that this year is also the 80th anniversary of the victory of the world anti-fascist war and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, which is an important moment to remember history and forge the future. The Charter laid the foundation for the post-war international order, laid the foundation for contemporary international law and continued the original aspiration and mission of the United Nations. Kang Shuang said that not long ago, China put forward a global governance initiative, which called for sovereign equality, international rule of law, multilateralism, a people-centered approach and the achievement of practical results. China is willing to work with all parties under the guidance of the global governance initiative to uphold the goals and principles of the Charter, promote the construction of a more fair and equitable global governance system, and jointly move forward to a community with a shared future for mankind. Kang Shuang emphasized that maintaining international peace and security is a serious commitment made by all countries to the Charter. The international community should collectively fulfill the objectives and principles of the Charter, respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all states, maintain the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, adhere to the peaceful resolution of disputes, and oppose the deliberate use of force or the threat of force.
