China has given a big blow to America! Additional port costs will be set on US ships, new rules will be in force from this day
The tension between America and China has increased again. China has set additional port fees on US ships. The new rates will apply from October 14. The China Transport Ministry said on Friday that ships were owned and operated by US businesses and individuals, or sailed under the US flag, would have to pay extra port fees on every trip. This step was taken following the new port charges imposed by the US. In addition, ships built in China, operated by Chinese entities, will pay rates in the US. The fee could be more than $ 1 million for ships carrying more than 10,000 containers and rising to 2028 annually, according to the estimates of analysts. Supermeans are continuing with the Ministry of Transport in China, said from October 14, the fee for US ships calls at Chinese ports will amount to 400 Yuan ($ 56.13) per ton. From April 17, 2028, ships calling at Chinese ports will pay this fee of 1.120 Yuan ($ 157.16) per ton. China may suffer losses over the past two decades, China has established itself as the world’s largest shipbuilding leader. Analysts believe these Chinese rates will have little impact on US ships, while the rates imposed by the US are more hard on Chinese ships. Last year, Chinese shipyards built more than 1,000 commercial ships, compared to less than 10 in the US. The tensions between China and the US have increased since September, and the confrontation between the two superpowers continues. A 90-day trade tariff moratory signed in August will expire in November. The leaders of the two countries are expected to meet at the Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit at the end of October. Share this story -tags
