Clarks Triple-Double leads fever past Sky 93-58 while Tempers flare up after hard error in the 3rd term

Indianapolis (AP) -Caitlin Clark opened the season with the third triple double of her career, and the new Fever dominated the new appearance of the last 16 1/2 minutes Saturday to move away from the revamped Chicago Sky 93-58. The WNBA smoking of the year of the past season finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while blocking a career high of four shots. Aliyah Boston added 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks, while Natasha Howard scored 15 points in her fever debut. Dewanna Bonner also scored seven points to be in third place in the WNBA’s career, and Tina Thompson overtook. Bonner now has 7,289 points. Angel Reese had 12 points and 17 rebounds for the Sky, which lost three of four against Indiana this past season. Ariel Atkins added 11 points. But the game is defined by the latest chapter in the Clark-Rean rumble. This time it comes to a hard mistake of Clark over Reese’s arm, who loosened the ball and hit Reese on the floor with 4:38 in the third quarter. When Reese jumped on to confront Clark, Fever Center Aliyah Boston walked between the two players as Clark walked away from the skirmish. The referees upgraded Clark’s mistake to a blatant 1 and assessed technical errors to Reese and Boston after a repetition. But after Reese made one of the two free throwing and Courtney Vanderloot made a setup on the subsequent possession, Indiana closed the third quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 65-45 lead. The sky never really threatened Indiana’s lead. Fever coach Stephanie White scored the first win of her second coaching champion in her first match in the state where she won Indiana’s Miss Basketball Award from 1994-95 and Purdue led to the 1998-99 National Championships. ___
