An Customs Division official told Pti-Bhasha that four passengers were arrested after seizing more than 6,815 kg of gold worth Rs 4.44 crore and diamonds worth Rs 2.02 crore over the weekend. An Indian citizen who went from Mumbai to Bangkok was stopped and his trolley bag was searched. During this, packets of noodles were found in her suitcase. When a parcel was opened, the whole case came to light. Diamonds are smuggled by hiding in a packet of noodles. After this, officials arrested the accused Passenger. The custom officer further said that a strange woman from Colombo to Mumbai was stopped on suspicion. When the female staff searched her, it was found that the strange woman hid golden bricks and a chopped piece in her underwear, weighing 321 grams. Apart from this, two-by-two journeys from Dubai and Abu Dhabi and 10 Indian citizens traveling from Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok and Singapore were also stopped and found that they had 6,199 kg of gold, at Rs 4.04 crore.
